Volicon Appoints J. Kelly Bloomer as Director of Sales for Cable and Broadband

Volicon, a leading provider of products designed to acquire, record, archive, and stream high-quality, real-time video content, has made a new addition to its team with the appointment of J. Kelly Bloomer as director of sales of the company’s cable and broadband department. Bloomer will be directly responsible for the introduction and sales of Volicon’s Observer RPM (Remote Program Monitor) products to the U.S. cable industry.
The new Volicon Observer RPM was developed to help MSOs and smaller cable operators monitor, record, and stream transmissions at central and remote, unmanned headend facilities. Based on technology employed in Volicon’s award-winning Observer broadcast monitoring system, the RPM monitors and records 500 or more channels for audio and video signal integrity, records fault detections, and notifies the operator by e-mail or SMS alerts if the signal does not conform to prespecified limits.
Bloomer has more than 25 years of experience in the cable, telecom, and technology sectors. Prior to joining Volicon, Bloomer served as the managing director of sales for Perical Solutions, LLC. He has also held senior management positions with startup and early-stage technology and telecom firms. Bloomer has enjoyed a distinguished career in the cable industry, including positions at James Cable Partners, United Artists, Cablevision Corp., Warner Communications, and the Times Mirror Company.

Bloomer will be based in West Palm Beach, Fla., and will report directly to Russell
Wise, Volicon’s vice president of worldwide sales.
