GVExpo 2007 Preview
See us at booth 1328!
At GVExpo, Volicon will be demonstrating modules and options for the Observer® system that bring new efficiencies and streamlined operations to government agencies. The Observer is an advanced desktop media monitoring solution that captures, stores, and indexes broadcast content from multiple channels — enabling public officials to stay on top of news that is relevant to their organizations. Now, agencies no longer need to spend time manually searching for, viewing, and editing VHS tapes in order to deliver pertinent video content. With the Observer, organizations can monitor breaking news at all times and easily search and retrieve video news items without having to rely on expensive monitoring services. The Observer’s powerful search capability enables users to retrieve information quickly and easily right from their own desktops and then distribute video content immediately throughout the organization.
Enhanced Search Engine Module
Finding broadcast content immediately saves government agencies time and helps them operate more efficiently. Volicon has introduced the new Search Engine Module, which allows users to put their fingers on transmitted broadcast material through a powerful new index-based search engine.
- Closed-caption text searches
- Searches by word or phrase
- Advanced features such as word proximity and fuzzy search
- Display of cc and video thumbnail search results
- Search Watchdog notification with keyword alarms
Centralized Monitoring and Viewing Module
Many government organizations now want to monitor and review aired content from multiple sources. The Centralized Monitoring Module allows users to verify broadcast quality and review important content such as news from a central location.
- Centralized monitoring from agency headquarters
- Centralized viewing of content
Extended Storage Option
The standard Observer configuration supports up to 90 days of digital content storage, but the ExtendStore® option provides the capacity to store content from four channels for up to one year. Because the minimum requirements for storage of aired broadcasts differ broadly among government agencies, the ExtendStore option enables long-term storage in a “set-it-and-forget-it” model that minimizes the need for human intervention and provides ready access to content when needed.
